Vodacom locked my phone as I had apparently reached my credit limit. Didn't even know I had one! However I contacted the call centre and was duly told that they would increase it so I could have a phone that could actually call people. They gave me a turnaround time of 24hrs to 3 days. Surprise surprise 3 days later and nothing. Instead the system is down at the call centre and they cannot help me. Again.
I am still paying for 2 contracts - the other through Nashua - as Vodacom cannot seem to port my number properly. It has been 6 months. I have actually given up trying to cancel the Nashua contract through Vodacom and receive a sim card that actually works with my old number. Thus whilst waiting for the elusive service, I never bought data for the new number as I lived in naive hope that it would eventually get done.
All I want is for my old number to work on my new contract and for me to actually have a working network and unlocked phone. Asking too much? Apparently.
