I bought a cellphone from MTN in August 2011 on a 24 month contract. I did not take insurance on the phone. About a month ago I lost the phone then blacklisted it. When I called MTN, their consultants informed me that I'm not due for an upgrade, that I will be billed until the end of December and that if I want to cancel my contract I will have to pay about R2000, all of this regardless of the fact that my contract ends in August 2013.
