ON 17 OCTOBER LAST YEAR, I RECEIVED A CALL FROM A GENT, WHO TURNED OUT TO BE CURTIS FROM VODACOM'S REWARDS DEPT. HE OFFERED ME AN UPGRADE ON MY CONTRACT, BUT WITHOUT A NEW HANDSET, AND ONLY OFFERING A DISCOUNT ON MY AIRTIME.
AS I WAS ILL AT THE TIME, AND TO GET THE PERSISTANT GENT OFF THE PHONE, I AGREED.
SOON THEREAFTER I WAS HOSPITALISED FOR A LONG TIME DUE TO MY ILLNESS. ON RETURNING HOME, I DISCOVERED THAT THIS UPGRADE WAS NOT AS I HAD EXPECTED, AND VISITED VODACOM AT THE LIBERTY MALL, ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT I COULD NOT CANCEL THE UPGRADE, AND THAT ALSO NO ONE COULD HELP ME.
I BELIEVE THAT I WAS DUPED INTO AGREEING WITH THIS UPGRADE, AND I WOULD RATHER GO PERSONALLY TO VODACOM AND SIGN A NEW CONTRACT THAT I AM HAPPY WITH, RATHER THAN GETTING SOME ONE CALL ME FROM A CALL CENTRE OFFERING SO CALLED UPGRADES.
I HAVE BEEN A CUSTOMER OF VODACOM FOR MANY YEARS AND WOULD APPRECIATE BETTER SERVICE.
