In November last year I was contacted by Mtn regarding my contract. I agreed to an upgrade and after completing yards and yards of paperwork, was told that my cellphone would be couriered to me. I finally received the phone on 9 January but with no micro sim card. Having tried to communicate with an agent and after much frustration, I was eventually sent the sim card on 16 January. Since then and frequently on a daily basis I have been trying to have the sim activated, only to be informed the the 'network is down' and to try again later. It is practically impossible to speak to a human being, but on succeeding, have been told that I would be transferred to the activation department! I am then put through to the very same automatic activation system which is still down. Having waited 2 months for my new phone, I am still unable to use it. My daughter upgraded her contract with Vodacom last week (no paperwork!) and received her working phone in 3 days. Having been a loyal customer of Mtn for 17 years, I feel I would like to cancel my contract and move to another service provider.
