Loosing R8800 Airtime!!!

My wife downgraded her account and was told that she would not loose her R8800 airtime on the contract but WILL HAVE to downgrade ONLY AFTER the 16th. Going to the store to downgrade the sales person said that we are loosing this amount.

How could people working for such a corporate company not know if a client is going to loose money or not???

Then after the first month on the downgraded contract I phone 808 to get the billing amount which was R519.82.Paying that amount a few days later the account is beeing suspended due to short payment???

This is the second time phoning 808 getting the amount and paying it that the line has been suspended, and my wife gets a bad payer record???

Could someone please be so kind to explain all of this to me???
