I have tried calling the Vodacom helpline, but calling international and trying to reach a consultant is impossible and to hold on an international call for 20 mins is to expensive. I immigrated from South Africa 4 years ago. On drawing a annual credit record, to check for any frauds ect, I was shocked to find, Virgin Mobile have listed my account with a overdue amount of over R11 000 dating back to 2008. On the same credit report 1 year ago, looking back I see that there was a current account in the amount of R70.00. The information is 5 years old. I have not lived in South Africa for 5 years. I want an explanation why this information is recorded, incorrectly, this needs to be removed failing which I intend to take the matter up with the Credit Oumbadsman. Any contract I may have had in 2008 has long since expired and how can there be an active account if I don't even live in South Africa any more. My attorney has advised me that in terms of the Prescription Act 68 of 1969 there is nothing to pursue on an 5 year old account. Please respond to my email only
