I received an Iphone 5 from the Somerset Mall branch on the 29th of June, 2013. I chose the SmartPlan 100 for R418 per month. I pertinently asked the sales assistant whether the amount at the end of the month will be R418. She said yes, closed the deal, and gave me my phone.
I received my account today, but it wasn't anything near R418. The billing stipulates that I owe R319 for the month of June. No one told me that I would have to pay the R319 extra for a month that I didn't even own the phone.
An 8ta call center consultant informed that I should go back to the store and "discuss" the discrepancy with them. I refuse to become involved in a discussion with sales consultants that to their customers. I also refuse to pay this amount as it was NOT stipulated and/or discussed at the time of purchase.
According to the Consumer Protection Act, Consumer Right No. 6 :
Suppliers are not permitted to, directly or indirectly, provide consumers with false,
misleading or deceptive representations regarding goods or services.
I expect this account to be rectified within 24 hours.
