What is considered a reasonable wait to have fault

In this day and age of technology I cannot believe that I cannot even be told where I stand in the queue after reporting a fault 3 days ago...
Wednesday morning we woke up to a telephone line more dead than a door nail.
I went to my neighbour and asked to phone the 10210 number and thank goodness that was a free call because by the time I got to speak to someone I had a cauliflower ear! That was shortly after 9am. I was told I would be put in a Q for a tecnician to come out and given a ref number.
It is now Friday afternoon and after waiting at home every day since for someone to pitch I phoned again only to be told by someone very "snappy" repeating stuff like a robot, that it has not even been handed to a technician yet.
I assume being Friday no one is working anymore today and then there is the weekend... if this wasn't so ridiculous it would be considered funny in this modern day and age.
Dont even bother asking one of the "robots" if there is anyone who one can contact to get an indication of how much longer one is expected to wait, because they just repeat the same thing over and over again.
Ja boet... service delivery from Telkom leaves a lot to be desired :-(
