8ta service levels ranges from absolutely brilliant to downright pathetic and heartbreaking. And as they say one rotten tomato spoils the whole bag - thats why this is a complaint and unfortunately not a compliment.
I have an Huwaei LTE B593 router given to me by 8ta during the 8ta LTE trial (brilliant - thank you very much). Following the commercial launch of the LTE service I purchased two 8ta data contracts. None of them work on the router, yet; i) both SIM cards work on other dongles and ii) an 8ta prepaid SIM card and a Vodacom SIM card work on the B593 router.
I have tried since May to have this problem resolved through all available channels to no avail. 8ta installed an external antenna at my house at no cost to me to address a weak signal problem (brilliant - thank you very much) - this would not have been necessary if the router problem was fixed as I have good enough LTE signal.
Finally I was told that the router has been blocked not to work with 8ta contract data SIMs - BUT WORKS WITH VODACOM!! What warped business sense is it to give me a free device which i cant use on 8ta but works with the competition's?
