In April this year I signed up for a contract that would cost me R119.00 - I have an own phone, a 4 years old Samsung slider model! Since then I keep receiving SMSs telling me that they have loaded my 200MB data package. I tried the Customer Care route - no joy told me I had this magnificent contract at R300 a month. Went back to the store and they said they would lodge a query - silence. So I went to MTN Morningside - the big guns - and spoke with a very charming and helpful Nomfundo Masinda. Whilst I was there she composed and sent an e-mail to the dealer at 4Ways Mall, and copied everyone who needed to know about this. Since then I have had R780.00 deducted from my account. To date Nomfundo tells me that she has had no response from 4Ways, and obviously everyone else she copied! I'm not standing for this. I'm cancelling the contract and going to Vodacom - so who else you say? - and they can please tell me that they will sue me for a broken contract because I want to be in court with them!! Just looking at the complaints that they haven't bothered to reply to tells me that MTN should be investigated by ICASA for trading.
