Mira Networks
Illegal subscription to Mira Networks / RainyAlert

Unbeknown to me, I was subscribed to Rainy/Alerts (Honolux). Mira Networks who apparently act as their revenue collections agent has been deducting R10/day off my cellphone account for the past month.

I received my first sms from the company in early July to say that I have subscribed for a service at R10/day, and that this is my monthly reminder.
I immediately approached Sebastin Samuel (CEO of Escalation at Cell C). He claimed that there is absolutely nothing Cell C can do to cancel this. While in his office, we contacted the said service provider's helpline - it went to voicemail for an entire hour. He subsequently asked me to approach WASPA, which I did immediately.
While I was unsubscribed from the service, I got hold of Mira Networks and mentioned my grievance, that I had never subscribed to the service.
They were most unhelpful, claiming that they are an intermediary, acting on behalf of an overseas service provider (they do the billing). They would not tell me how I could get hold of the said "" service provider, referring me back WASPA.
In my view, Mira are operating an illegal practice, and were not willing to resolve the issue or reimburse my cash.
