Expired cellphone contract still going on

My husband get an Cellphone contract from MTN July/Aug 2005. After 2 years the contract expired (2007. He did not renew the contract and the cellphone line was disconnected with the sim and telephone nr. During that time he get divorced, and we get together. In 2010, 3 years later, I start receive sms'e from Van de Venter, Mojapelo INC to pay the outstanding MTN account. Later, 2011, I phone the number of the attorneys and Wellington inform me the outstanding amount is R27 362.19 he send me a statement. He inform me we need to cancel the contract of 2005 at MTN. We went to 2 MTN branches in Vanderbijlpark, no one can help us, there is nothing on their system we must stop the contract at the attorneys. We speak again to the attorneys, they say we must stop the contract at MTN. Go again to MTN, same story, they cant help us. The tel nr that was used to be my husband nr, belong to another person now. I start to pay R100 a month to the attorneys on this account. They still phone me every month and send like 6 sms on one day that I must make the R100 payment, after I did make the payment. I am really tired of this, this account is standing on R32 380.60 on May 2013. I want this to stop.
