I received an sms from JM Attorneys about a cell C account that i had many years ago. The contract was for R50.00 expiring in 2 years. I took this contract out telephonically through an advert in the YOU magazine. I never received any paperwork for the contract. After 2 years I was not sure who to contact to notify them that the contract was up and that i would no longer require it, it was such along time ago that i do not remember if i eventually sent a letter to CELL C notifying them or not. I know I stopped the debit order. I have not heard a thing from Cell C about any outstanding money, but now i am told by JM Attorneys that I owe over R400 for this contract. How is this possible?? I have asked JM attorneys to send me a statement so that I can see what this amount is for. They have not sent me a statement and now want to ruin my credit rating with the banks. How can this be allowed, i have no control over the situation.
