Customer rip off

My wife and I are currently due for our upgrades, this will be my 3rd contract with mtn and wife's 4th contract. Before any contract could be changed from an open line to a top-up at no extra charge with same amount of airtime and data. MTN has now decided to increase the subcription fee with an extra R50 to change to a top-up contract and reduce the amount of data received. Theres is also and upgrade fee involved of R105 (if this is told to you and you dont end up with a R105 suprise on your next bill) and if you were to change to a different price plan eg MTN 200 top up to a MTN 100 top up and extra R750 needs to be paid which i think is a complete rip off to customers! MTN is unable to put a limit on your open line and any extra data used on your account is charged at R2 a migabite. MTN is not accomodating to their customers, they are out to make you take an open line, as they know will generate more income for themselves as there is no limit on calls or data! I think MTN has changed their business model and contract plans in order to rip off their customers! I have been with MTN for more than 12 years but now might be the time to change.
