After 2 months on the waiting list, and having used my iPhone 5 (on contract from Cell C) for two weeks, I noticed the home button to be "indented/ mushy" with a poor response when clicked. After taking it to the iStore, the staff said there was definitely something wrong, but that the handset had to be taken in to a Cell C branch for repairs.
The iStore staff laughed (literally) when telling me the ludicrous 4-6 week repair time that Cell C had in place. Upon disbelief I went to a Cell C branch to confirm this waiting period. The staff member there literally laughed as well at the lengthy waiting period.
I emailed the Davenport branch (Durban) querying the matter. I was told the most that could be done would be to mark my repair as high priority and provide me with a "simple phone" to "keep me mobile during the wait". When I asked how my nano sim was to fit in a "simple phone", I was told that I can go purchase a sim adapter.
Are they kidding? Cell C offers clients a R10 000 phone, yet expects us to wait 4-6 weeks on repairs, then tells the customer to go purchase a sim adapter?
Pull it together, Cell C. I trust a manager will agree that a REPLACEMENT handset is in order.
