I went to Singapore earlier this year for work. Within 18 hours of arriving in Singers I received a sms warning me of an abnormal high usage on my phone, although I used it only twice to check my mail and to skype. It was more than R11 000 for less than half a hour of usage. I was never told by the sales personel of mtn that the roaming rates are extremely high etc.because I only received this phone 1 week ago on a new contract. I am a lifelong MTN customer. I refused to pay the bill after I logged a complaint with MTN. Ref. NR: MTN REQ: 1662513. After numerous mails to raise a response, I received a mail telling me that my account has been escalated to the billing department. Ref. NR: 97517155. I phoned MTN and made arrangements to pay the bill in 3 monthly installments.ref Nr: 98180976 My phone was cut off 2 times in the first month after making the arrangement. To sort this problem, I paid the whole outstanding amount. I mailed the proof of payment to temba at the mtn service provider so that they can re-instate my debit order at the bank. They told me to do it. Earlier this week I received a sms reminding me that my account is overdue. Its the worst service ever and I feel betrayed
