No Communication About Outstanding Account

My mom received an sms which says she owe Cell C R3066.35 and she should call Pholosa. Surprised because the last time she communicated with Cell C was about3 years ago when she made arrangement that they debit a certain amount until she paid up everything, she asked me to call them on her behalf.
When I called Pholosa they said they only received the account on 2013/05/17 and I should call Cell C legal dep for any query before that date. When I call Cell C they said that the account was handed over in 2009 and that I should only speak with Pholosa since the account is no longer in their (Cell C) hands since then, I asked Cell C to send me the detailed statement explaining what happened from the date the account was opened till date and they only send me the statement dated 01/08/2010 which was just a normal monthly statement and they said they can't give/tell me anything else because I should only speak with Pholosa.
I then asked Pholosa for the detailed statement, they said they will request it from Cell c but what they sent me was only from 2013/05/17 to date. So my mom and I still need to know what happened between 2010 and now.
