A month without internet

My ADSL line stopped working on Tuesday the 4th around 9:00PM. I called 10210 to report it and was told that the line was not syncing and that there is no one to assist with the problem as it was after hours.

Wednesday afternoon, after I had no communication from Telkom other than the reference number being SMSed to me, I escalated the issue on their site. An hour later I phoned 10210 again and was told that the fault was handed over to the tech repair division. After this I received a call from the "Escalations" department stating the same, and that, when my line is fixed, I can claim back the line rental from Telkom.

Today, Friday the 6th at 3:15PM, I receive a SMS stating that "Telkom has concluded its investigation. The cable in your area will be replaced and the restoration of your service is targeted for 2013/06/24"

Almost a month without a service I'm paying for??? Impossible
Without any alternative solution offered??? Impossible
Surely, a company that "specializes" in communication could come up wit some sort of an interim solution?

I would not only expect my ADSL line rental refunded, but also my ISP cost refunded.
Or Just supply me with a loan 8ta dongle.
