Damaged cell phone given as a upgrade

In January 2013 we went to Mtn for our phone upgrades. My husband got me the new Sony Xperia T as my upgrade. The first thing that happend is when they took the phone out the box and inserted my sim card it didn't want to switch on and I was told the battery was flat and must leave it with them overnight the next day I went back and they switched it on and battled for 2 hours to load everything.
After that I had to go back to Mtn 3 times with phone for something that did not work. I hardly used phone because of problems on 29/03/2013 the screen went blank and I took it back to them. The phone was then sent in for repairs and 10 days later I was told to come fetch my phone its done got there and phone didn't want to switch on they put it on charge and still nothing. Then hidden in bottem of box under cartboard was papers stating phone has liquid damage and un repairable but phone was never near water or nothing phone is advertised as water resistant and dust proof up till today I am sitting with a phone I must pay but is not working and Sony Ericson SA said its Mtn problem and won't replace faulty phone that was sold to me.
