Phone Quarantined - Broad Daylight Rip Off

I booked my sons phone in for repair some time ago. I was told that the phone will take three weeks to get repaired. I wasnt happy with the process but I booked the phone in.
Sadly I lost the slip and when I called with his cellphone number no one could help me.
I managed to get the box and called the Morningside branch where phone was booked in and was told that the phone had been quarantined and I will not be able to get it back.

What upsets me is that not one person made an effort to call me to advise that the phone is ready for collection. The phone was a couple of month old when it was booked in and as I mentioned this my sons phone.

I cannot accept a loss on a phone I paid cash for - the IMEI number is 351892055395656- Model Blackberry 8520.

I require someone to contact me with a resolution please.
