Telkom unable to provide reliable ADSL

I supposedly have (and are charged for) Telkom's Fastest DSL service with speeds of 'up to 40Mbps".

As far as I recall, the saga is as follows:

16 May reported loss in ADSL service (Ref 933CRK160513)
19 May service restored
21 May reported loss in ADSL service (Ref 18CRK210513)
22 May service restored by technician who borrows my laptop. He doesn't have one!
24 May Telkom online technical support helps me fix the incorrect settings imposed by Telkom technician
25 May reported loss in ADSL service
28 May Service restored
28 May reported loss in ADSL service (lasted 22 minutes!)
1 June service restored
4 June complained to Telkom as upload speed is only 213kbps as it should be about 20-50 times faster (704CRK040613).

Over the past 20 days, I have probably made 30 calls to Telkom to complain, request service, ask for a progress report etc. I have been visited by four different Telkom technicians who take up to 3 days to arrive. The people in the various call centres have been most receptive and sympathetic, but unfortunately my ADSL does not run on sympathy! I am currently unable to function effectively in my business.
