I've recently decided to rather install a fixed line for internet than depend on the service that I am using at the moment. Now, the problem is as follows - firstly, why do I have to pay for ADSL installation (That R705, xx) if I can do it myself, anyway??? You don't even give me the option to apply for self-installation with the installation of the landline. Secondly, I've been told the installation will happen within 7 to 21 days... Why can't you give me a fixed date for the installation? 21 days is a ridiculous time to wait for the ONLY and most expensive telecommunications company, providing fixed lines, in the country! Thirdly, WHEN are you planning on providing the public with naked ADSL service? I have to pay for a service (telephone line rental) that I don't even plan on using, just because Telkom is just too greedy to change their policy! And no, I don't want explanations and sweet talk. I want service.
