Still being billed even with no contract with them

Cell phone contract was stopped in December 2012 and converted to pay as you go, but even with the contract stopped we are still being billed by R34. on 23/04/2013 we phones to query why and we were informed that the itemised billing was not cancelled and was still being billed we requested it to be stopped and the lady confirmed that it was cancelled. at that time we still had a positive value on the account but we are still getting billed and are unable to get it stopped, the account is now going in arrears
