In March 2012 I subscribed to MTN Fastlink E367 2Gb data service at a cost of R149.00 per month.
I have been billed R149.00 per month since then (no invoice just monthly stop order)
In April 2013 I made use of a special offer to buy an extra 2Gb of data at a once off cost of R245.00.
Since then I have been getting bills of more than R149.00 despite the contract indicating that the service is capped and that MTN will stop internet access when cap is reached.
I have logged calls with the call centre and this is what I have found out:
* They don't have a copy of my contract
* They claim I have an uncapped service
* MTN have given me a credit limit of R15k per month of which I am not aware
* Thus MTN will recoup costs (whatever they consider correct) against this limit and against my stop order which is only to the value of R149.00
* MTN provide me with no service or ability to monitor and manage my data usage
Having figured out how to register on MTN Active I can now see my account but cannot manage bandwidth usage, and hence my costs (assuming I had uncapped service which I don't).
Separate from this I have a call logged with MTN to do a coverage assessment, with no response.
