Wrong billing

I opened an acc - line (PACKAGE R150) and was told it is R150 no extra chargers on a monthly basis they never debited for tree months or even called to say why they never did. I called and asked why the money wasn't deducted and they said I must just wait they will deduct because the first month is free and I must just keep checking. a few months later a get a mail saying I owe more then R500 and I don't understand why. when I called they say its because the first month the debit order didn't go through but I was not aware and was not made aware now my question is if they didn't receive payment for one month that is R150 why must I pay more then R500 that i'm in arrears in. how did it reach that amount. they never told me that there is interest rates or hidden costs. I think they have poor client services because there should be people to keep you up to date with your acc and explain what will happen if it falls behind
