Struggle to replace route

On the 3rd of May our wifi router was. Our insure company paid out for us to replace it. We phoned MTN, and were advised to go to our nearest branch (Highveld mall) to get a simswap and a new router. After hearing that they do not sell them on "prepaid" and we should take out a new contract, we threatened to cancel this contract. They then said that we must go to a different branch (saveways crescent) to get arouter. We did so, twice. There Gareth said he will order it and phone us back with a quote. He still has not done so. Because we need the router for work and study, we had no choice but to take out a new contract, and finally we got a simswap. We got the simswap on the 18th, and Jannelese at the Highveld branch had problem with their system prevented her from completing the swap. She sent an email to have it done. On the 20th we went back to her, and she sent another email. Today, with the sim still not working, we phoned the call centre. Neither Nkele or William or Lindie could provide decent customer service, blaming Jannalese for our problem at first, then saying the sim is "faulty". We had to go back to the branch AGAIN. This is unacceptable.
