I upgraded my Cell C contract through Cell C direct end of February 2013. After receiving the phone and microsim for the Samsung S3 in quick time (3 days after upgrading) the fun started.
I called in and did a sim swop to keep my old number for the new contract. Everything was in order and I would be able to use my new upgraded phone within 48 hours. 48 hours became a week or two, there I had a phone contract that I paid for could not use the phone since the microsim was not active yet. In the second or third week I was phoned and told that someone at the call centre 'accidentally' registered the microsim in someone elses name and that I needed a new microsim.
There famous words ' We will call you back sir'
Weeks went past and I had to phone them to find out what the status was. I managed to have 3 different query numbers in total. It is May already and I have not heard anything back from Cell C direct. Therefore for almost 3 months I have been paying for a phone I could not use.
I went to a local store to get a new microsim and it was activated immediately within 10 minutes. I will never recommend upgrading with Cell C direct with anyone. BAD service.
