Towards the end of 2012 I signed up for a 1GB CAPPED account with MWEB for R29 p/m.
All went well until beginning March 2013 when I got a bill for R529.40. After countless phone calls with the MWEB billing; sales and customer care departments it turns out the overcharge was for out-of-bundle data used of 2.2GB at a ridiculous 20cents per MB. My first questions was: "I didn't sign up for out for bundle, so how could I be charged for this? ". Apparently when you sign up your account you have to choose "out-of-bundle" or not - to this day MWEB could not prove that I selected this and if I did, my second question is: "why was I NEVER notified that I am going out of bundle".
I think what MWEB is doing is not only immoral but surely has to be illegal. The reason I say this is as I've also been with Afrihost and Webafrica for years and never have I had this problem before, nor have I ever had such bad service from them.
But wait there's more...
Middle March I cancelled my account and to my utter disbelief today I received another bill for R428.20 for March out-of-bundle. MWEB what you are doing is disgusting and I will make sure everyone I know will never spend a cent with you.
