In January 2012 I renewed my contract with MTN and discovered that my phone kept losing its signal which caused me to have to switch the phone off every time this happened. For almost a year I thought that this was a problem with the phone and not the Sim card. In December I upgraded the software on my phone and discovered that now my phone cannot connect to the internet at all. I also noticed, at this time, that when I place other Sim cards into the phone, it connects without any problems and does not lose its signal. On Friday 19 April 2013 I spoke to the people at MTN on the corner of Loveday and Fox Streets, Marshalltown they told me that I would have to do a Sim swap which would cost me R137.00. MTN should not make it their customers' problem to replace faulty equipment that they themselves have supplied.
