After 48 hours my phone is not back online

I upgraded my handset at MTN Vall mall on 1/05/13 and took a hand set that requires a micro sim card, I bought the new sim and they assured me that it would be active within 24 hours. After 48 hours I switched the phone on for the first time and it was not active yet. I phoned the contact centre and they advised me that the requist has not been sent throuh from the store. When I phoned them back they said we are very busy and when we have time we will see what we can do. My account is R1500 and over each month and it is very easy switching providers.
