In early February 2013, I applied to Afrihost to convert my line to DSL. In 2 weeks I got an sms saying my line was 'correctly provisioned' & to test the connection. The line did not sync. I called the 'help'line. They said my line was NOT converted. They couldn't explain the sms. After 27 working days, & no word from Afrihost, I called the callcentre again. They said (@ this stage!) that for 2 weeks, Telkom got an 'error' from my line & couldn't process my application. Why was I not told? I demanded they CALL TELKOM FOR ME & REPORT BACK. They said there were 'no more ports available @ the exchange' & they couldn't help me. It took them OVER A MONTH to tell me this. I begged to have the order cancelled. I was told I could only cancel the order online (with WHAT INTERNET ACCESS?). I was also told that cancellations go through @ the end of the month. So I had to wait until the END OF APRIL for my line to be cancelled before I could look elsewhere. On 30 April, I got an email saying my order was cancelled. I just called Telkom: THE ORDER IS STILL PENDING! It is MAY, almost halfway through the year, & after 3 months of fighting with Afirhost, I still have no internet access. Livid.
