For the past year my wife has constantly tried to cancel her Gym account arising in a fight about cancellation fees. At the time she signed up (36 month contract - 11/11/2011) she was told by the consultant (Megan) that she could cancel the contract at any time. No mention of penalties was involved nor does her signed agreement mention anything of the sort.
We no longer live near the gym she signed up at and they have been getting over R200 monthly from us with no service provided. My wife was never provided her membership card, membership number or offered a walk-through of the gym or any further contact. She continued to try to contact them regarding this but was never responded to.
