Having trained at Virgin Active clubs nationally for the past 10 years I have had to adjust to Escape gym due to affordability. Its now that I realise how fortunate I was to have had access to world class standards of service, equipment and overall management within the Virgin brand. I have to admit that training at Escape has made me realise that I have taken Virgin Active for granted and I honestly cant wait to get back into their gym. Escape is classic example of 'getting what you pay for'. Dont expect any competence, hygiene, accountability or state of the art equipment. The caliber of members are also aligned with the standards of this place. Their aircons are constantly switched off even in summer just to save on electricity costs. This makes it unbearable to train due to sweaty people, high humidity in coastal climate and inadequate ventilation. Staff are even afraid to approach the owner as he is not approachable and rude. It is clear that the owner is not interested in service but more concerned about increasing his revenue. In essence this place is decades behind other fitness clubs and if you can afford it, rather pay a little extra be somewhere that you are happy.
