Bad attitude

I went to our gym to just swype my card as I did not have time to gym today. The guy at the front desk told me since I am not training that he cant swype my card.
Since I pay a monthly fee I dont see how it makes a difference to him whether I actually go in or not. He then went on to tell me that I am wasting my money if I am not training. He did this infront of a couple of other customers standing around.
I feel lile cancelling my contract since I am 'wasting' my money.
