We to Planet Fitness today to sign a 2 year contract they wanted 2950 Joining fee and 395 per month. I said to the Sales person that this was high in relation to Virgin Active, he said no problem I will only ask 1950 Joining fee, I again said no, it is way to high, he then dropped it to 950, I started wondering if I was at the ORIENTAL PLAZA negotiating for the deal of my life,
To cut a long story short I agreed and said lets do it, so he took all my details, and brings me the contract, the first clause is acceptance of a AUTOMATIC RENEWAL, I said I am prepared to sign for the contract period of 24 months as discussed by will not sign the automatic renewal clause. I told him that I am not prepared to sign a automatic renewal clause and by law the Gym can not automatically renew the contract with out my signature,
He said he was going to make a phone call to the director, when he returned he took a pen and wrote cancelled on my contract.
This was a contract totaling 950 Joining fee and 9800 rand in 24 equal payments. On my way out 2 other couple asked me what I complained about and they walked out to.. That is a loss of over 30000 rand in a matter of 5 minutes..
