I asked to have my account cancelled on the 8th of January and I e-mailed the request for cancellation on the same day as instructed. When I phoned back a week later the person I spoke to told me that no one had even bothered to open the e-mail yet and by that time January's statement had already been sent to me which means that I still have to pay January's fee. She told me that she would print the e-mail and give it to the manager to process. Then another week later I phoned again to find out that, once again, nothing had been done. The person I spoke to then told me about the settlement amount and told me that he would send the request away to head office. Later that same day I phoned yet again to find out that nothing had been done. Finally, that afternoon, the last person I spoke to actually informed me of the amount. I had to resend my request for cancellation after receiving the settlement amount and have now been told that it will take 30 days to process. This means that I have to pay February's fees too and who knows if my request for an updated settlement amount will be processed in a timely fashion.
