I joined Zone Fitness Willowbridge 28th May and get a SMS on 5th June saying that it will be changed to a Co-ed gym. This was never communicated to me when I signed up. In fact it was sold to me as a Women's only gym, my Membership Agreement is with ZONE FITNESS WOMEN WILLOWBRIDGE. I signed up because there's no males around to make me feel uncomfortable. I even opted for the Superclub option to attend the Women's only gym in Kloof Street occasionally.
Before complaining I decided to try out the gym in Brackenfell and Rondebosch. I felt so uncomfortable and the layout was terrible! Using free weights is part of my training schedule but that particular area of the gym was so full of testosterone charged men, and all the benches were taken. The men have total disregard for women and never once gave me a chance to use the free weights. If I had known, I would have joined another gym such as Curves which is closer to my house than Zone Fitness Willowbridge. Clearly Zone Fitness does not care about its members, only the monthly payment that they're now going to from my bank account. I spoke to other women as well and they're VERY unhappy.
