For financial reasons, I had to give up my membership with Virgin Active Claremont in January (8th January).
About a week after giving notice of cancellation at the reception, I got a call from a lady, presumably from the accounts department at Virgin Active.

I was told the call was recorded, so I trusted that what was said would hold some weight...
I was offered 2 free months - February and March - to allow me time to 'think about it'.
When I was promised that there would be NO STRINGS ATTACHED, and that accepting the 2 free months was in no way giving my commitment for contract extension, the choice was pretty much a no brainer!
I was actually quite impressed that Virgin would allow for such a generous 'leaving' gift.

It turns out I was hugely misled...
On 1st of April, I had a debit order of R88, but this was expected, as it was explained to me in January that this was the last of my payments.
Then, on 1st May, I received a full month deduction from my account??
Either the people in your accounts department don't understand English, or the Virgin Active is out to people GENUINELY wanting to leave the club??

Virgin Active, please sort this out immediately!!
