My husband opened an account at Lewis in Woodstock in December 2012. We bought a bed & flat screen tv but due to tv not playing movies we contacted the store to return the tv. Wife personally went to the store to explain our situation. An unsigned copy of contract was given to her and all sorts of offers to buy a DVD with usb for R599 or a super speed usb 2.0/3.0 desktop hard drive witch would cost us more money after we just opened a big account to pay over 30 months. After making more then 15 phone calls & going to head office, we eventually took the tv back ourselves. Almost after 4 months we heard the tv can not be cancelled due to the regional manager being in hospital. We didn't make payments for 2 months because receiving statements stating payment for both bed and tv. They were suppose to give us a new contract witch must be signed by my husband for a bed only. Now we got a demand letter to pay our account otherwise they handing us over to the credit bureaus & we don't know who to turn to after head office can not help us.
