Not living up to Scan Right Guarantee

20 April 2013 We were at the Pick 'n Pay Summerstrand Village to purchase a food processor. We were finally going to purchase the food processor wanted. The food processor was priced at R399.99 on the shelf but scanned a R479.99 at the till. The supervisor (Deon) was quick to rectify the price change and process the purchase, when we asked about the Scan right guarantee policy he went away returning with the confirmation that the bar-code was not the same. only that was after we had double checked that they were.

the price tag at the shelf had been removed. we now had to prove that we were not at fault about this price tag. We believe this problem could have been handled differently and everyone walked away satisfied. the matter was not handled professionally as we had to argue with the staff right there at the checkout point with every other customer watching and listening to the scene. and the fact that we kept being told that they were trying to protect loss to the company was unbelievable because we were going to be at a loss for paying the incorrect price which was higher had we not realised the the price at the checkout point.

What about the scan right guarantee???
