I have just returned from one of the worst shopping experiences ever! The packing staff at Woodmead Hyper are beyond inconsiderate, blocking aisles with pallet jacks and trolleys filled with empty boxes, while talking amongst themselves.
During check out, several items reflected the incorrect price when scanned. The 'supervisor' (name tag: Sarah) took a good 10 minutes to come to the till after being called. Sarah picked up one of the incorrectly priced items, and disappeared for a further 15 minutes. In the time it took Sarah to check the price of one item, I was able to fetch the price tag off the shelf for the other items that scanned incorrectly, namely a special for 3 Cadbury's Bubbly 87g slabs for R30. Upon Sarah's return, I made it clear that I was prepared to pay R30 for the slabs, but wanted an additional 'item' of 3 slabs, per the special, for free. Sarah showed me a board with the scan right guarantee. I told her I was familiar with the guarantee, and insisted on the free item. Sarah then had the audacity to ask if I could read, before telling me that as there was no bar-code on the shelf tag, the guarantee didn't apply. Why advertise a guarantee if you wont honour it?
