Scan Right Policy

I Purchased a tin of Horlicks drink on the 05.06.2013. The Price on the shelf was R39.99 when I got to the till it scanned R49.99. I was asked ny the cashier to get the price tag from the shelf where the packer gave me the price tag and agreed that the price was wrong. The Manager and Supervisor (Jeniffer and Bilquees) then got invloved and investigated.

Jennifer's first comment was that it was the wrong flavour drink, so obviously the packer gave me the wrong tag, which I explained to her. After acknowlidging that she then compared barcodes to which was also wrong because of the price tag of the different flavour drink... by then the price tags of R39.99 was removed and replaced with R49.99 so one could not compare...

I have twice before been refunded for incorrect prices at Pick n pay with no hassles and now they come with a long story. I still maintain that A CUSTOMER SHOULD PAY THE PRICE OF WHAT HE/SHE SEE'S ON THE SHELF AND THAT IT IS PICK N PAY'S RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THAT THE BARCODES ETC CORRESPONDES WITH THE PRODUCT... THIS SHOULD NOT BE THE CUSTOMERS RESPONSIBILITY>>>>OTHERWISE WHY HAVE A SCAN RIGHT POLICY IN THE FIRST PLACE???
