I gave my watch (out of warranty) in for repairs at Edgars Cresta in November last year.
I was told I'd be called when it was ready. A month later I heard nothing so I called the store. Steven at jewellery said it wasn't ready. I called again two months later and the watch hadn't been repaired. In February Steven called to say it'll cost 600 to repair and wanted the go-ahead. I agreed. I didn't hear from the store again so I went in today to query. I stood there for two hours, eventually I was taken to manager, Johannes Nkomo. The assistant explained the situation. He said NOTHING to me & told him to "just give the customer whatever he wants for the price of the watch." Steven then said I had to pay the repair cost regardless. I said that's not what the manager told the assistant manager and asked him to call Nkomo to clarify. Nkomo was blunt he said I was being given a good deal because the store will pay the difference for a new watch, like he was doing me a favour. He didn't apologise for the poor service & went against his initial word when he said I could take a watch for R1300. I've spent tens of thousands at Edgars, but won't spend a cent there again. Customer service is key
