I opened a truworths account in Jan 2011. I was making monthly payments but i was a slow payer, however in Jan 2012 i paid up and settled the account. When i requested a credit report from Trans union, it states there is a default for truworths and in Dec 2011 my account has a status code of 'w' meaning it was written off due to non-payment and will stay on my record for 2 years and In June 2012 my account has a status code of 'x' meaning my account was settled after repossession or written by the company due to non-payment. I reiterate i was making monthly payments and settled the account in Jan 2012 so the information is false. Truworths failed to update the correct information with the credit bureaus. I was a slow payer so it should remain on my credit report for one year and it shouldn't have been handed over in the first place. I contacted Trans union but they cant do much without truworths go ahead. I made several attempts to sort this out and when i contacted Nina Schwartz from truworths, she said in an email they not obligated to help me! What they doing is illegal with respect to the NCA and CPA. Please help.
