I was given a gift voucher by a friend for a MAC make-up application lesson. I chose to redeem this at the MAC branch in Rosebank (the Zone). I was attended to by Thoko and Jenny who made me feel very unwelcome, and made it seem as though my presence was a blemish on their day. They scoffed at me, made insulting remarks and were so rude to the point that I could not stand anymore insults and bad treatment so I took my voucher back and asked to speak to their manager (Kerry). They said Kerry was not in and I was welcome to call her on 011 447 6409. I did so, only to find that the number they had given me was for their own counter, and Thoko answered the phone, laughed at me, saying Kerry was not in, and hung up.
I then took my voucher to MAC at Melrose Arch, where I was attended to by Lorraine, who was an absolute darling, and after hearing my ordeal earlier that day, made up for it ten-fold.
To any prospective employers, Thoko and Jenny are not the sort of people you want in a business where being polite to customers is a necessity.
The fact that this incident took place in Aug 2010 and still bothers me to this day, should prove how upsetting it was!
