Went to IC to buy Apple Ipad accessories. Was paying with my UK debit card. Was told to produce my passport and that they had to take a copy of the front and back of my card, and my passport. I DON'T THINK SO. I have used this card all over south africa and other countries and never been told such bizarre requirements. Am I really going to allow my card (with security code) and my passport to be copied and left with who knows to use as they feel like - ever heard of identity? Additionally what tourist in their right mind carries their passport with them. Ridiculous policy. Do Apple know about this?
