To my disappointment yesterday I had gone to Rynfield Spar, at the Terrace centre to buy nappies for my baby which was on special, unfortunately its a bad time of the month and I had only coins to do the purchase, I went to the help desk before buying to ask if its OK and then I was told NO they do not take that much change, only R5 in 10c, R5 in 20c and R30 R1, and that was the reserve banks rules... I just walked away and felt humiliated, the guy still shouted at me and said wait let me show you the papers, I then went to the PEP in the same centre, who then helped me without any problems, they were willing to count my worthless money, and allow me to purchase. Thank you PEP Rynfield for your wonderful staff and the lovely stranger I met. Then I went to Spar in Chrystal Park to see if they had the same policy for coins and they did not, they would have helped me if I had not already bought else ware. So "MY SPAR" that has all the ads of how they help people, what ever, this spar would not help me even count my coins for a purchase and gives the franchise a bad name- SO if you cannot use a card or R50, R100, R200 notes - do no buy there, as your money is not good enough for them.
