I claimed against my Aunt's Funeral Policy with Edgars early in February (she passed 30 Jan) and still await a reply. I was told there were documents outstanding but had submitted, Edgars Greenstone then refaxed to insurance company and still nothing to date.
Now I am told they paid over EFT, BUT I was emphatically told that I could ONLY collect the funds from the Branch. No funds received yet.
Besides, not once did any of the people I dealt with seem concerned that there had been a death. (except Maledo who is TRYING to assist me)
They also only payout to people with the same surname! I first had to get an affidavit to say that she was staying with me and why I was claiming...
Imagine if I needed the money! This is a principle exercise as the amount is small.
Lesson learnt - understand exactly what the processes are and whether it is worth it before taking out in good faith.
