Unable to assist with changing of name

Tried to change my surname. I handed the lady behind the till my new I'd, old I'd and marriage certificate. As she was unsure about the process she asked someone else to assist her. She did not once inform me of what she was doing, left me standing for 10 min whilst she disappeared with my docs. She then told me to wait another 10 min when she eventually reappeared. I waited some more just to realize hat she did nt send the docs to head office. All I want is a name change!!!
