I took my Speck swimming pool pump to Swimpool Centre in Newton Park on 22 February 2013. It was working fine, but a week earlier it started to make a grinding noise when under load, with other words while circulating water. It was booked in with the request to attend to the grinding noise which sounded like a worn bearing. Later that same day a telephonic quote of R628 was provided to solve the problem, with other words to make the grinding sound to go away. I accepted the quote and collected the pump on 23 February. After I fitted it I discovered that it was still making the very same grinding noise. I phoned Swimpool Centre and they send a technician on 25 February. He agreed that it certainly does not sound like a pump that has just been fixed and removed it. On 26 February te owner phoned me and stated that if I would like the grinding noise to disappear, then I will have to pay additionally as it is not his problem that the grinding sound is still present. He stated that they have done work worth R628 and it is not his problem that the grinding sound is not gone. The pump is still with him. He offered to sell me a new pump for R2800, R1000 more than for what I can purchase it
